Background

Inovopedra was founded by Regina Vitorio and Pedro Vazão, who after several years of experience working in the area, decided to start the company in 1999. Inovopedra started its activities with a small factory with roughly 200 m2 and focussed on the local market.  

In 2001 it increases its facilities up to 650 m2, increasing also its market to the national level.

In 2003, Inovopedra increases its production and administration structure to 1000 m2, which allows the expansion and development of its business to the international market, initially on the Iberian Peninsula and later on the European market. At this time, Inovopedra started to focus its attention on quality differentiation, and in 2004 begins the isso 9001:2000 certification, with the goal of assuring the product and service standard to all its clients. Still in 2004, Inovopedra together with its English partner, is awarded with the Natural Stone Award 2004.

During 2005, it purchases a 30000 m2 land, increasing its production area to 6000 m2, equipped with the latest technology, with the purpose of fulfilling the needs of different international markets.

In 2006, implements the isso 14001 certification, showing concerns with the environment.

In 2008, taking into consideration its international perspective and globalization, Inovopedra creates its own brand called LSI stone.

Currently, Inovopedra keeps a compromise with dynamism, quality standard and product and service efficiency, commercializing its products in basically all continents, with exports accounting for about 95% of its total volume of business.
